The verdict

A capable LiDAR mower, but hard to recommend over the Navimow i215 or Dreame A3 AWD at similar prices. Those include 4G or AWD, and they're actually in stock.

What we like

  • LiDAR mapping with no antenna
  • Compact and light
  • Good obstacle avoidance

Watch out for

  • RWD, so only 45% slopes
  • 4G costs extra
  • Spotty US stock

Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000H video review

Video by GearUP with Aaron on YouTube. Independent creator content, shown as a reference. It is not part of our scoring.

The Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000H is a capable quarter-acre LiDAR mower: no antenna, strong obstacle avoidance, and setup that reviewers finished in about 10 to 15 minutes. The problem is the competition. At its typical mid-range price, it costs about the same as the Segway Navimow i215 LiDAR and Dreame A3 AWD, which include 4G or AWD and have been easier to find in stock. It’s a good mower that’s hard to recommend over its neighbors.

Who the YUKA mini 2 is for (and who should skip it)

It suits flat to moderately sloped yards up to about 10,000 sq ft, especially ones with trees, fences or walls that would trouble an RTK mower. It’s also a reasonable pick if you’re already in the Mammotion app ecosystem, or if you find it on a good sale.

Skip it if:

  • You have slopes steeper than about 45% (24°). It’s rear-wheel drive. Mammotion’s own LUBA mini 2 AWD climbs much steeper ground.
  • You want theft tracking included. 4G is a paid add-on.
  • You need it this week. US stock has been patchy, so check availability before planning around it.

The YUKA mini 2 navigates with a 360° LiDAR sensor plus dual-camera AI vision. Mammotion quotes a LiDAR range of about 2,362” (roughly 197 feet) and 0.6” navigation precision. Because it maps by “seeing” the yard rather than listening to satellites, tree cover isn’t a problem. Our navigation explainer explains why that matters in shady yards.

EasyLawnMowing’s hands-on review found setup took about 10 to 15 minutes and called assembly “refreshingly simple.” The reviewer said LiDAR guidance excels in tree-covered areas where GPS signals weaken, and that the mower moved between zones without hesitation. Mapping can be automatic or manual, and Mammotion supports cloud backup of up to 10 lawn maps.

DropMow is a nice extra. You set the mower on an unmapped patch and it mows that area with no map at all, which is handy for a strip by the driveway or a patch outside your mapped zones. Our setup guide has general first-run tips.

Mowing performance, slopes and terrain

Mammotion rates the YUKA mini 2 for 45% slopes (about 24°), using a rear-wheel-drive layout with a 65 W hub motor. That rating, like every manufacturer figure, assumes dry, short grass. On damp grass, EasyLawnMowing advised care with cutting height to avoid scalping. For anything steeper, read our slope limits explainer.

Obstacle avoidance is the standout. Mammotion claims recognition of more than 300 obstacle types with motion prediction. EasyLawnMowing said the mower picked up small items like gloves and footballs that other models miss, and gave it an overall 89/100, calling it “A Masterclass in LiDAR Navigation.” The reviewer also praised its “straight, parallel mowing lines.”

Coverage, cutting and edges

The deck is 7.5” wide, and Mammotion quotes about 2,690 sq ft per charge with up to 2.5 hours of mowing from a 6.1 Ah battery. The full quarter acre will take several cycles. That’s normal for this size class.

Do the math before you buy. At about 2,690 sq ft per charge, a full 10,764 sq ft lawn needs roughly four charges per complete pass, plus recharge time between them. That’s fine on a robot that mows a little most days, which is how these mowers are meant to work. But if your mowable area is close to the quarter-acre rating, the YUKA mini 2 will be running nearly every day in peak spring growth. A lawn of 6,000 to 8,000 sq ft is the comfortable sweet spot. Our size matcher can help you check the fit.

Cutting height is listed as 2.0” to 3.5”, though Mammotion’s own pages disagree (another lists 2.2” to 4.0”), so check the listing for the exact unit you buy. EasyLawnMowing noted height adjustment on its review unit was manual, on the mower, rather than in the app. On edges, that review reported excellent results near stone borders with little follow-up trimming. Mammotion markets a cleaner edge-mowing mode, but expect to trim fences and raised beds by hand like any wheeled robot.

App, connectivity and anti-theft

The Mammotion app handles scheduling, mowing patterns, no-go zones and up to 10 zones. Connectivity is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Tracking requires the optional 4G module, sold separately, which Mammotion pairs with a three-year free 4G service trial. Without it, you have no remote location tracking. If your yard faces the street, budget for the module. Our theft protection guide covers what else helps.

Ownership notes

  • Weatherproofing. IP67 is one of the better ratings in this class. See our rain guide.
  • Stock. US availability has been spotty. If it’s out of stock, the rivals below are good substitutes.
  • Pricing. It’s a mid-range mower that Mammotion discounts from time to time. Budget extra for the 4G module if you want tracking.
  • Maintenance. Razor blades wear quickly on sandy or debris-heavy lawns. See our maintenance guide.

The Segway Navimow i215 LiDAR covers more ground at the same price and includes a year of 4G. The Dreame A3 AWD adds AWD, an 80% slope rating, 4G tracking and twice the coverage, often for less. If you want to stay with Mammotion, the LUBA mini 2 AWD costs more but brings AWD and built-in 4G.

Bottom line

The YUKA mini 2 1000H does the important things well. LiDAR mapping with no antenna, sharp obstacle avoidance and fast setup all earn praise from reviewers. But at its mid-range price, it’s up against rivals that include 4G or AWD for the same money. Buy it on a solid discount, or if it’s in stock when the others aren’t. Prices and stock change often.

YUKA mini 2 FAQ

Does the Mammotion YUKA mini 2 need an RTK antenna?
No. The YUKA mini 2 1000H navigates with a 360-degree LiDAR sensor and dual-camera AI vision, so there is no antenna to install and no reliance on satellites. That makes it a good fit for small yards with trees, fences or a house that blocks the sky, where RTK mowers can lose their fix.
Does the YUKA mini 2 have 4G anti-theft tracking?
Only with an add-on. Out of the box it connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Mammotion sells an optional 4G module, which it pairs with a three-year free 4G service trial. Without it, you don't get remote location tracking, which matters if your lawn is visible from the street.
What is DropMow on the Mammotion YUKA mini 2?
DropMow is Mammotion's no-mapping mode. You place the mower on a patch of grass and it mows that area without a saved map, which is handy for a side strip or a spot outside your mapped zones. EasyLawnMowing's review called it genuinely useful for temporary mowing. It's not a substitute for a proper map on your main lawn.
Can the YUKA mini 2 mow slopes?
Moderate ones. Mammotion rates it for 45% grade, about 24 degrees, on rear-wheel drive. That rating assumes dry, short grass. If your yard has steeper sections, the AWD Mammotion LUBA mini 2 (80%) or the Dreame A3 AWD (80%) is a safer choice.
