The verdict

The best-value small-yard mower if your lawn isn't perfectly flat. AWD traction at a budget price was unheard of a year ago. Coverage tops out at a quarter acre and the deck is narrow, so it's strictly a small-lot machine.

What we like

  • Cheapest AWD wire-free mower from a major brand
  • Antenna-free setup
  • Off-road wheels handle roots and 1.5" steps

Watch out for

  • Narrow 7.1" deck
  • Cutting height is set by hand
  • 4G subscription after year one

Segway Navimow i2 AWD (i206 / i210) video review

Video by Steve DOES on YouTube. Independent creator content, shown as a reference. It is not part of our scoring.

The Segway Navimow i2 AWD (sold as the i206 and i210) is the cheapest way to get all-wheel drive from a major wire-free brand. At budget to low mid-range prices, it brings traction and antenna-free setup to small lawns that are bumpy, rooty or gently sloped. The trade-off is scale: a quarter acre is the ceiling, and the 7.1” deck is narrow.

Who the Navimow i2 AWD is for (and who should skip it)

This mower is for small lots, up to about 10,900 sq ft on the i210, where the problem is terrain rather than size. Think a sloped front yard, a backyard crossed by tree roots, or grass that stays soft after rain. Those are the yards where a two-wheel budget robot spins its wheels, and where the i2 AWD’s extra driven wheels earn their keep.

Skip it if your lawn is flat and open. The two-wheel Navimow i105N / i110N uses similar navigation for less money. Skip it, too, if your slopes are steep. A 45% rating handles moderate grades, but banks above roughly 35% call for an 80% machine. And if most of your yard sits under dense trees, satellite positioning is a weak spot, so a LiDAR mower is the safer choice.

Navigation pairs Segway’s tri-band network RTK with VisionFence, the camera system that handles obstacle avoidance. Segway says VisionFence recognizes more than 150 types of obstacles. Network RTK means the mower gets satellite corrections over 4G instead of from an antenna in your yard. Segway’s retail copy describes “antenna-free setup with auto mapping,” and says network RTK access is included at no extra cost.

That makes setup simple on paper: place the dock, pair the mower in the Navimow app, and let it auto-map or drive the boundary yourself. The French site Neozone reported installation took under an hour. The caveat is the same as for every RTK mower. Your dock and lawn need a reasonable view of the sky, and network RTK coverage varies by address. Our setup guide covers dock placement, and how robot mower navigation works explains why RTK struggles under heavy canopy.

Mowing performance, slopes and terrain

All-wheel drive is the headline here. Segway pairs it with 9.8” off-road wheels and rates the mower for 45% slopes (about 24°) and vertical steps up to about 1.5”. A third motor drives the steering wheel, which Segway calls Xero-Turn, so the mower pivots in place instead of dragging its tires through a turn.

That matters for turf. AWD mowers have a reputation for scuffing grass when they spin on wet ground. Neozone’s reviewer ran the i210 AWD over roots and damp patches and reported the cut stayed even “in areas where I expected to see the robot struggle,” with no circular wheel marks even on wet soil. One review isn’t a guarantee, but it’s a good sign for owners of soft lawns.

Remember that slope ratings assume dry, short grass. Measure your steepest section with the slope checker and leave yourself margin. Our slope limits guide explains why a 45% rating doesn’t mean 45% in all conditions.

Coverage, cutting and edges

The 7.1” deck is the main compromise. On a 10,000 sq ft lawn, that means a lot of passes, so plan on the mower running most days rather than finishing in one session. For a quarter acre that’s fine, because frequent short runs are how robot mowers keep grass tidy anyway.

Cutting height runs from 2.0” to 3.6” and is set with a manual dial. If you change height with the seasons, you’ll be kneeling by the mower to do it. Most small-lawn owners set it once and forget it. As with nearly every robot mower, expect a narrow uncut strip along fences and walls, so keep a string trimmer around.

App, connectivity and anti-theft

The Navimow app is one of the stronger ones in the category. Bob Vila and TechRadar have both praised it on other Navimow models. You get zone scheduling (up to 20 zones on the i210, per retail listings), mowing direction control and an animal-friendly mode that Neozone found kept a predictable distance from wildlife.

Anti-theft combines 4G GPS tracking with a geofence alarm. The first year of 4G is included, then renewal runs about $33 a year. A small lawn mower near the street is an easy target, so we’d keep the plan. More ideas are in our theft protection guide.

Ownership notes

  • Running costs: about $33 a year for 4G after year one, plus replacement blades.
  • Weatherproofing: EU and AU spec sheets list IP66 and 59 dB, which makes night mowing realistic. US listings don’t always repeat these figures.
  • Pricing: sales are common, and 9to5toys tracked both models well below list in May 2026. Prices change often, so check before buying.
  • Narrow passages: the compact chassis fits through side-yard gaps that stop larger AWD mowers.

The Dreame A3 AWD is the toughest rival. On sale it costs about the same as the i210, adds LiDAR navigation that doesn’t care about trees, and doubles the slope rating to 80%. Choose the Navimow if you prefer Segway’s app and long track record, or if Dreame’s sale price has jumped. The Navimow i105N / i110N is the budget choice for flat lawns. If your small yard is shaded rather than sloped, the Navimow i215 LiDAR handles trees better. Our guides to the best robot mowers for small yards and best budget robot lawn mowers put all of these side by side.

Bottom line

The Navimow i2 AWD makes all-wheel drive affordable for small, uneven lawns. It’s easy to set up, it grips where two-wheel mowers slip, and early reports suggest it’s gentle on turf. Buy the i210 for anything above about 5,500 sq ft, keep a trimmer for the edges, and look elsewhere if your yard is big, steep or heavily shaded.

Navimow i2 AWD FAQ

What is the difference between the Navimow i206 AWD and i210 AWD?
Coverage and price. The i206 AWD is rated for 0.15 acre (about 6,500 sq ft) and typically sells in the budget tier, while the i210 AWD covers 0.25 acre (about 10,900 sq ft) and usually lands at the low end of the mid-range (October 2026). They share the same AWD chassis, 45% slope rating, deck and navigation. If your mowable area is over about 5,500 sq ft, buy the i210.
Does the Navimow i2 AWD need an RTK antenna?
Usually not. Segway markets the i2 AWD as antenna-free: it pulls RTK corrections over its built-in 4G connection, and Segway says network RTK access is included at no extra cost. Coverage varies by address, so check Segway's network RTK availability for your area before buying, especially if you live somewhere rural.
Does the Navimow i2 AWD have a subscription?
The 4G connectivity used for remote control and theft tracking is included for the first year. After that, the Connect+ renewal runs about $33 per year. That is a small cost, but factor it in. Without it you lose remote tracking, which is the main point of the anti-theft system.
Can the Navimow i2 AWD handle hills?
Moderate ones. Segway rates it for 45% slopes, about 24 degrees, and its all-wheel drive and 9.8-inch off-road wheels give it better grip than two-wheel budget mowers. That rating assumes dry, short grass. For banks steeper than about 35% or slopes that stay damp, look at an 80% AWD mower like the Dreame A3 AWD.
