The Anthbot Genie is a wire-free RTK mower with four cameras for obstacle detection, sold in three battery sizes for lawns of 0.22 to 0.89 acre. Reviewers like the easy mapping and quiet mowing. They say the RTK station placement and the app need work. It was crowdfunded and went on sale in spring 2025 (TechRadar). Anthbot’s US store lists the Genie 600 at $699 on sale from $1,099, as of 2026-10-12. Check today’s price.
Who the Anthbot Genie is for (and who should skip it)
Tom’s Guide said it is best for well-manicured lawns kept up with regular trims. Electrek’s reviewer called it great for anyone who wants easy setup and wire-free operation, so long as there is a clear sky view. Notebookcheck found it great for small yards but challenged by larger spaces, and only moderately “plug and play.”
Skip it if:
- Your lawn is weedy or neglected. Tom’s Guide says such lawns may not be a good match.
- The RTK station has no clear view. Notebookcheck’s reviewer had a problematic time with it even on open ground. See robot mower navigation explained.
- You have several acres. Electrek’s reviewer wanted something for several acres in the pasture behind the yard.
Navigation and setup
TechRadar describes RTK GPS and AI-powered 3D four-camera recognition, with the RTK receiver and charging station placed first. Tom’s Guide says mapping can be automatic or manual and Anthbot quotes 10 to 20 minutes. Notebookcheck says the system uses RTK, LoRa and 4G and works well when properly configured, but it had to remap whenever the RTK station moved, even slightly. Tom’s Guide also lists up to 30 zones. See our setup guide.
Mowing performance, slopes and terrain
Anthbot lists a 45% (24 degree) slope. Electrek tested in Florida and did not push that figure. Notebookcheck described a slow and steady, safety-first approach, and said its quad cameras detected its test animal dummies, non-grass areas and neighborhood cats. Electrek said obstacle avoidance was solid. Check yours with our slope checker and see best robot mower for hills.
Coverage, cutting and edges
Tom’s Guide lists a 7.9 inch cutting width and cutting heights of 1.18 to 2.76 inches. TechRadar describes a five-blade disc and straight, parallel mowing lines. Electrek’s reviewer saw about three to four hours for 450 to 500 m2 and a return to dock to recharge, and said edging is not perfect. Notebookcheck said it can leave streaks.
App, connectivity and anti-theft
Tom’s Guide and TechRadar both found the app easy but in need of tweaks. Electrek lists device binding to Wi-Fi and account, plus a PIN lock. The 1000 and 3000 include 4G (TechRadar, Notebookcheck). See theft protection.
Ownership notes
- Noise. 58 dB listed (TechRadar, Tom’s Guide), under 67 dB measured by Notebookcheck.
- Water. IPX6, and it returns to dock in rain (Tom’s Guide). See do robot mowers work in rain.
- Warranty. Tom’s Guide lists 2 years, a 30-day return window and a 30-day price guarantee.
- Price. List prices of $999, $1,199 and $1,599 (TechRadar and Tom’s Guide) have been heavily discounted. Check today’s price.
